030 Slow Day

Coworker and I "decorated" the printer near our desks. I laughed for hours.

029 Predator

In what was possibly the strangest, most gruesome reason I've ever missed a bus, this hawk was eating a pidgeon while being repeatedly dive-bombed by a murder of crows. Stunned and amazed MS employees gathered around to watch the spectacle. The hawk seemed stone-cold oblivious to everything but his (her?) dinner.

I think we all learned a valuable lesson: don't f*ck with hawks.

(it was also loud. check it out.)

028 Bright Idea

Communist light above my desk at work. I took this during a break between episodes of my current Korean drama: "Pasta."

027 Twins

Me, exhausted from a weekend full of dog wrangling and a week of sleepless, cough-interrupted nights. Bedtime now for me and my stars.

I should clean that mirror.

Tons of spring garlic from the garden, drying in the sun.

025 Kooza

Went with a bunch of folks to see Cirque du Solieil - Kooza today, where cameras were emphatically not allowed. I learned this shortly after taking a single picture, which you see here.

The show was amazing - you should go.

Even with the blinds drawn, sunlight streams into the living room in the afternoon.

021 Buddha, Spoons & Babies

Central Cinema was showing a movie about artcars, so there were tons of them parked on our street.

(even the break lights look like REALLY HAPPY faces)

020 Summer Rose

This is one of the first blooms on the roses we planted this year. It looks and smells like a dream. I'm posting this on Father's Day because roses always remind me of mine :-)

019 Debris

D's mom brought us a lovely bouquet from the market last week and it's just now starting to shed petals onto the table.

Today I walked "Kudo," who came into the shelter with the name "Kujo," cropped ears and a spiked collar. In lots of places, he would've had a one-way ticket to the euthanasia room. I'm proud that in Seattle, this loveable guy is getting the chance he deserves.

016 Rootaliation

Despite my no-face-kisses rule, Roo occasionally snipes me with a big smooch... such as when I'm trying to get both of us in a picture. (Also note the distinct lack of pink in my hair :-)

015 Messenger

This guy was in the middle of the sidewalk on campus this morning, with Something To Say. By the afternoon, his message sent, he was a shadow of the gastropod he used to be.

014 Color Card

Julio took this one, right before bed. I don't actually use this compact thing all that often, but I love having the option.

013 Not Broken

Justin and I went on a 17ish mile bike ride today! On the way home we stopped at Baskin Robbins for some ice cream and I dropped my phone and my camera on the cement. This is the test picture I took to make sure they both still worked. Turns out, they do :-)

012 Every Rose Has its Thorn

This picture shows a few things:
1) it was a ridiculously gorgeous day today.
2) my rose bush is sick.
3) my camera is awesome.

Waiting for the #11 to take me down to Pioneer Square to visit the swankiest of swanky offices.

Are pink bachelor's buttons mutants? I think so, but they're pretty mutants.

Volterra, followed by Ballard market wandering. I bought a tomato plant.

005 Happy Lady

R and I went on a 10-mile bike ride on blue bikes. This is at Myrtle Edwards, somewhere along the bike path.

(Sidenote: my new camera is so fantastic, i thought i should mention it. it's tiny, has RAW and full manual modes (though i haven't had to use either yet) and the COLORS are just amazing. Canon S90 - highly recommended.)

003 Dollhouse

The workplace again, but this is at 6am, from the 4th floor, before anyone but me was around. Its astonishing to me how much like an architectural drawing this looks. All the little perfect plants and chairs...

002 View From Inside

The atrium in my work building, from the second floor, behind the giant LED curtain scupture. The strips made of tons of little circuit boards and the designs change each week. Super cool.

World, meet Newton. His brother Kepler and cousin Babbage came to live with us yesterday.
