583 They're So Sweet When They're Young

 

I often joked about Marlowe being kinda dumb and not being capable of catching and bringing us "presents"... BUT I WAS KIDDING, DAMMIT. Leave it to Marlowe to not understand sarcasm. This terrifying sight (and smell) was what I encountered when I headed to my room for sleepingtimes. UNDER MY BED, cat? REALLY? Jeez.

582 Precious Condensation

 

This is how you know your drink hasnt lost all of it's sacred coolness. If you leave it long enough, it'll get f*cking hot like the rest of the world. 103 degrees today in a city with very little AC. Spent a good chunk of the evening at the mall, not shopping.

Yep, still hot. It was either this, or a pic of the condensation on the outside of the cup. Iced tea is the main reason I'm surviving this heat wave.

580 Crispy Grass

 

Did I mention it's freakin' hot? This is our lawn and every other living thing in Seattle: hot and drained of life. I also took this waaay after dark with the flash, which is why it's not blinding sunshine. I hate blinding sunshine.

579 A Big Fan

 

It's freakin' hot. This is streetlights outside through the box fan J bought to put in his window. For the minute or so I spent in front of it, snapping pics, I wasn't melting.

Nerds came over to drink mojitos (that I made, with fresh mint from the garden) and play Arkham. We won around 3am, but only just.

Today was national tequila day and national trevor day... which unsurprisingly lead to a few shenanigans. This was at the Chapel, where we took over the balcony and watched fire dancers.

I usually try to avoid using pictures of the food I cook and eat as a PotD simply because I almost always take food pictures and... well, I strive for variety around here. Today is a special day, however, because I started a second blog to post some of those photos. I'm calling it foodofrax (of course) and it definitely won't be updated every day like this one is. Mostly, it's a way for me to get some use out of the food pr0n I create and to remember meals that worked.

Went to the Chinatown-International District Summer Festival for a few hours today. Lots of food I couldn't eat (meatses), but it was still pretty cool. I wanted to eat this whole booth, but it was display only. Here are a few of the other pics I took.

Deception Falls is just off Route 2... and is where J locked his keys in the car. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait too long to get it unlocked. This was on the way home from our epic Washington journey. The whole album is here.

On the way to Grand Coulee Dam on Route 155. I took a lot of good pictures today, so choosing just one was hard. These two are my other favorites of the scenery and here's one of the dam.
