431 Standing Water
I spent some time in the backyard with Roo today, poking around and considering what projects I want to attempt this summer. One of them will be to get rid of this weird barrel full of rain water and duckweed. For now, I'll just take pictures of it, but soon, it's outta here along with whatever mosquito larvae are already in there.

430 Friday BBQ
Every other week, a bunch of workfolk go to Floyd's to celebrate payday. I find it very odd that I end up in a sports bbq bar, but they have Strongbow and good mac and cheese, so I survive. This picture is lame, though.

429 Bike Shui
Saw By the Sea and Post Adolescence play at the Mars Bar, but pictures of the bands were pretty bad. This bike lives above the door and was much more photogenic. (has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? bikes as interior decoration? i see it everywhere lately...)

427 He Shrove Me to It
I was told today was Fat Tuesday/Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day and, since I don't know how to make paczki, I went ahead and made pancakes for dinner. Hell, I'll take any excuse to make pancakes for dinner. I also made this fabulous cinnamon honey butter to put on the pancakes instead of syrup. J says it was full of win.

426 It's Easy Being Green
Starting to go stir crazy from beeing cooped up and sick. Hey look! It's a picture from my bedroom!
(It's some old ribbon tacked up on my bulletin board, next to the wall. Mom was asking what color it was.)

423 Zomg.
The fridge at work. All I did today was work and then sleep. I'm sick and couldn't muster a more interesting photo.

421 I'm a Fan
I told everybody who started a project 365 that there would be stretches where you really, really just aren't inspired. I'm going through one of those right now, as the last few picture suggest. It's a struggle to get excited about pictures of a ceiling fan, but here's one. Here's another that J liked better.

420 Tea Time
Had no idea what to take a picture of today, so here's some tea. It's #63 (Cinnofig) from Remedy. We drank up two pots full as we pursued various nerdy pursuits.

418 Cosmic Encounter
...was the name of the game we played today, which had me thinking about aliens. Then I went to the backyard to take pictures of nighttime before going to bed. This is one of the [mossy] plum trees in our backyard. Again with the selective draining out of colors and deepening the blacks. I really like this effect and I thought it worked since I couldn't see any color out there anyway. Click to see the details in real size.

417 Two Player
The boy took me up to our favorite game store for V-day gift, because he is awesome. The guy in the picture had a similar idea, apparently. I love that I randomly captured this moment, when all I was trying to do was figure out if I had the exposure right before taking other shots. Thanks to these two strangers, for being picturesque and awesome!

414 Mundane
I didn't feel like taking pictures today, but luckily Julio was perched on my desk. This ball chain was also on my desk, so it's today's PotD. I like the funny things going on with the DoF and reflections, so I pushed the desk into shadow to keep the chain as focal point. I also drained out the yellow/orange because, as it turns out, I like it better shiney silver than the somewhat tarnished color it actually is. Yay for post processing :-)

413 Pounce
This wasn't supposed to be my PotD, but all I shot today was Marlowe being a ham, so you get to see Marlowe being a ham. He's decided the big bag of plastic bags in the laundry room is a great place to chill.

412 From the Macro Desk
I occasionally just wander around taking macro pictures of random things around the house. Today, it was hot cocoa, blueberries, a cactus, leftover grilled asparagus, some tulips, Faraday and these. They're month-old roses that have dried rather nicely. I didn't do much to make it this awesome - just cranked up the brightness and the blacks.

411 Now in Three Dimensions!
Saw Coraline in 3D today with the whole front row full of jokers such as these. These glasses are clearly not the ones famous people use to hide from paparazzi.
Oh also, you should see Coraline.

410 Elixir of Life
Yes, it's a coffee cup. Original, I know! I was at Stumptown for breakfast, so I took a picture of my cup. Sometimes it's just a boring photo day.

408 Out Back
F and C convinced me and J to go to Outback Steakhouse for dinner... where I found that they have tasty drinks and sweet potatoes, in addition to meats. This is night time Lake Union, across the street.

406 Standing Room Only
J and I went to Mama's tonight, where I was serenaded by a couple of singers-of-Spanish with guitars. They played Besame Mucho for me (awesome) and then we wandered over to see Inkheart. The theater was, as you see, rather empty, which speaks volumes about the acting talent of Brendan Fraser. The movie was actually not bad though, especially since he wasn't in it much.
(Pic was taken with black cam and de-noiseified as much as possible. God, that camera <3s the grains.)

405 Not Palm Springs
Yay, another airport. This one is outside San Diego. At least they have palm trees. So glad to be headed home again.

404 What Happens In Vegas
...isn't much when all you see is the airport. I hate the Vegas airport, but it is at least picturesque, especially from the air. This was enroute to San Diego.
