187 Washington Circuit

 

The highlight of my day today was the long, fast motorcycle ride J and I took out to Carnation and Duvall. I'm not risky enough to try to take a picture while I'm riding and it was too hot to stop much at any of the beautiful places out there... so you get an arty picture of my helmet and my Washington state map.

Because I just can't seem to resist taking and posting pictures of adorable animals... this is a golden tamarind I saw at the zoo today. He was posed so perfectly! Too bad about the plexiglass between us.

I feel like this is a bit of a cop-out, but when the mountain is out, how could I not? It's pretty much the same as this shot, just with more sun.

I didn't mean for this to be my potd, but I only took two all day... and this one is seriously cute. Her name is Athena now, but I still call her kitteh.

181 Hair Razing

 

Got my haircut today. It doesn't look much different - just a little shorter and not so shaggy. The extensions hanging at Scream are more interesting... and I felt less odd taking a picture of them than I did of the wonderful girl who cuts my hair.

180 Boonies

 

This is some back road near Skykomish, WA. I ended up on the "Old Cascade Highway" and then ended up quite clearly off anything resembling a highway. Still, it was sunset and shockingly dramatic, like the rest of the landscape. Soon after this, I ended up at another water feature labeled "Deception" by unoriginal settlers... but still pictures of vast amounts of rushing water don't turn out so good.

I was spoiled for choice for today's picture. I started the day at Deception Pass and ended it the merc, with lots of driving, Todai, Gameworks and the Can Can in between. This is under the bridge at Deception Pass, clearly. For contrast, here's the runner up (at the Can Can, where F, C, T and I saw an amazing show).

Went for a walk at lunch with D because it was shockingly nice out. This is someone's yard in Queen Anne.

Someone scattered candy all over the hill. This was the third or fourth place I saw it: in front of OCC on Olive.

This is a dumb picture of roo's leashes and collars hanging from the dog tail hanger thing. It was either this or another one of the work kitteh.

I couldn't resist. Of the 90 pictures I took today, this was by far the most adorable and the most in need of captioning. No, I didn't get a cat... this was a stray found by a coworker. That is my hand, however. It got chewed on a lot.

A rare moment without rain this week. You don't get that color blue in the sky just anywhere. (I took this while walking back from Elysian with J, A and D. Good times.)

They finally knocked down the block of Broadway that used to have the QFC and Taco Bell on it. This is what it looks like now, pre-condo. Another one bites the dust.

164 Last Ditch Effort

 

I realized I hadn't taken a picture today just before I went to bed... so I snapped this in my very dark bathroom after brushing my teeth. It's not really that blue in there, but I had to lighten the pic up to make it visible at all. That tattoo is getting it's symmetry twin one week from today!

I love this pic because it's so shockingly Cap Hill. The window displays at Red Light are always funny, but this one was... special. The window reflections obscure the naked manneqin with taped nipples. I wouldn't look too closely at the purple shorts either.
