127 Succulent Box
I got this particular succulent from a random nursery on Vashon Island last December. I didn't know it would flower and none of my other cacti really bloom like this, so it was a nice surprise. I've been meaning to take a picture of it for a while and, since today was insane at work and then pretty normal at home, it was the right time.

126 Christmas Pizza
J and I went over to visit a new friend and potential coworker tonight for (slightly awkward) dinz. He and his roommate (pictured) made fabulous pizza with homemade dough and sauce. It was a good time :-)

125 Missing the Point
On the walk down the QA till today, I spotted this stencil. I like it aesthetically, but it's funnier for it's meaning. Apparently riding a bike is good karma and driving a car is bad... and where does vandalism fall in this scheme? A conversation with my favorite Bodhisattva-in-training reveals that it isn't about good and bad deeds, but about being mindful of the connection between ourselves and everything else. Mailboxes included.

124 Oblivion-seeking Slurp
No picture today... it slipped through the cracks between brunching in Portland, driving back to Seattle and quality time. Also, a pinched nerve in my back :-P

123 Whoa There, Stick Boy
There is SUCH a story behind this picture... it's me and DJF in the empty lot next to the Portland house where he and R live. Those bruises on me are symptoms of the bubonic plague, obviously. James is a physician and "the cane is used to direct family members to move the patient, other individuals nearby and possibly to examine the patient directly."
Oh also, we were on our way to a costume party. I took lots of pictures today, but this particular one was taken by R. She posted a picture I took for her Friday choice, so I'm reciprocating here.

122 A Crowning Achievement
I always end up with these "dark inside spaces and interesting lighting" shots... and I'm not sure if it's because I really like them (I do!) or because I tend to spent a lot of time in interesting dark places. This particular one is a bar called The Crown, where my gracious Portland hosts were DJing. I <3 Portland.

121 Cha Cha Cha
The basement of Bimbo's is the new Cha Cha... and this is its ceiling. I guess you could say this is the bottom of Bimbo's floor. Two things for me to remember: yes, the sangria really is that good and no, you can't eat the tacos; they're too spicy.

120 Doorgasm (or: inside the ghetto gate)
Coming home from mexican dinnerfoods, I snapped this picture of the door to our building. You can just barely see J and I reflecting in the door window.

119 You Must Try Some of My Purple Berries
Every morning I see tons of blooming flowers near where we park for work and every morning it cheers me up a little. Spring is green in a lot of places, but in Seattle it's also distinctly purple. I can't wait for the rhodies to start up.

118 Bikeshades
This bike, parked outside of Half Price Books, begs many questions. What does the rider do with the lampshades while he's riding? What's the point, when they have big holes in the top that let rain through anyway? Are the lamps in his home shadeless or is there a rogue lampshade-for-bikes vendor someplace that only the Cool Kids know about? Some questions are better left unanswered, I suppose.

117 Geek Day
The best weekend ever ended today with geek-tivities followed by another birthday celebration. Mellzah had a big party, which included a circus performance by many of the same people I saw on Friday night. I love this picture of Jenny Penny and Mr. Beau being awesome. I'm totally amazed at the things these two can do with their (wall-of-muscle) bodies... It's also less scandalous (really) than some of the burlesque ladies I could've taken pics of. Given the level of activity (and awesomeness) this weekend, I'm astonished that I'm coherent at all. It's time to change that, I think.

116 Deq Day
Today was Deq's birthday. We brunched, gamed, ate bitchin' burritos and then went to SSP with 20 of our closest friends. That's where I took this picture of A and J with their PBR. Afterwards, most everybody followed us home, where we stayed up until 5am being awesome. I made some new friends and had a blast with my old ones. Excellent.

115 Game Day
Our Fearless Leader declared today an all play, no work day. We had Rockband, Super Smash Bros and at least five different board games going at once for the whole day. Add free beer, lunch and some of the best people in the world... I've never had such a great day at work. Pictures of people playing board games aren't that interesting, so here's a shot of one of the kites that hang in our stairwell.

114 Neptune
It's been a while since I did one of these close ups with crazy lighting. This is the inside of my compy.

113 Star-bellied fr*xl
I can't describe how much I love this shirt. I actually regret not buying four of them when I had the chance... Also, I don't know who drew the kitty on the whiteboard behind me, but I love it and it's staying there.

112 Last Wall Standing
They knocked down another building on Queen Anne Ave today. I actually ran back to get my camera this time instead of continuing on my way to lunch. In the few minutes I stood watching, this building went from mostly-building shaped to tinder-shaped. I'm still amazed at just how fast it all happened... that wall ceased to be a wall about two seconds after I took this shot. Demolition <3

111 It Bugs Me
This is a sidewalk stencil I found while taking a thinky night walk. It coexists peacefully with the sidewalk squids I see everywhere... while anybody's watching, at least.

110 Five Columns
Camera phone FTW! This is my foot, at the merc. Thanks to S for the night, and J, B, D, N, J and those other people we made friends with for making the night awesome. You really can't go wrong with music, booze, and origami.

109 Recovering the Seattelites
Justin and I went for a motorcycle ride today because the weather was fabulous. 80 degrees in April? I'll take it. This is the view from a dead end street I randomly steered us down, somewhere near 30th and Union. You can just barely make Mount Ranier out through the haze (which burnt off soon after I took this). The water is lake washington and the bridge is I-90.

108 Skirts for Giants
A whole bunch of businesses on Broadway had to move because they're putting in a light rail station. Most of them are relocated, but the empty building is still there... and this is what they've done with it in the meantime. This used to be Ace Barbershop. So weird... and so wonderful.

107 Indognito
This is Doogie, one of the neighborhood dogs we see occasionally when we coffee train. He was waiting to ambush someone, I'm sure.

106 Behind Me
If I turn around in my work chair around 6pm, this is what I see. The sunlight is awesome, but the piles of crap wear on me after a while. Seems like my house is like this and my office is like this, so my head can't be much better.

104 A City that Occasionally Sleeps
I was already in bed, dozing off, when I remembered I didn't take a picture today. I jumped out of bed, ran into the living room and snapped this through the window. I like the lights out there, even if the angle is a little skewed. ...and it looks like no one was around to see me standing at the window half naked, which is good.

103 Spoon (generates x0.5 threat)
These are some of my favorite people, gathered for brunch at the Canterbury before commencing with Geekday activities. I think D had just aggroed N in this shot... or maybe it was the other way around.

102 Just a Bunch of Fraggles
J and B had their "saturday morning cartoons" themed housewarming party tonight. I was more concerned with watching cartoons from my youth and playing with friends than I was with photo taking, but here's one to commemerate the night. Interestingly, B took a way better picture of me taking a picture of him. It looks like me, but with a glowing ball of light for a head.

101 This is Getting Out of Hand
Yes, it's my bathroom. Yes, I need to clean it... badly. I kinda like the standing-on-the-toiletseat angle :-)

100 Artwait
N, A, and D went with me to artwalk today, where we met up with T and N for artyfuntimes. Everyone else in the city apparently had similar plans, because it was super crazy busy. This was walking up the main staircase of one of the studio hives in pioneer square. I dont know any of these people, but there were hundreds of them waiting to move.
Also, I totally forgot that this was my 100th day...

099 Detour
I walked to work this morning because J was sick at home and because it was a nice day. This picture feels like my life right now... and I like the stripeys.
