097 Hairy, Hairy Dreadlord

Today marked the end of the March Moustache Contest at work. I was one of the judges, so I spent a large part of today looking at men with hairy faces. This is the hairy face of our Dreadlord and Master, ProducerJoe, posted with his permission.

096 Douchebaggery

I hardly ever call someone a douchebag, but the asshole who spilled two pints of beer ALL over me on Saturday night definitely was one. We got into an altercation afterwards where he tried to convince me to feel bad for him because he was so drunk and stupid. It didn't work. Andy drew this whiteboard depiction of the event while he waited for me to shower and change out of my beer-soaked clothes.

095 Melee

There was a flashmob pillow fight downtown today, near the market. It was three minutes of unabashed joy and harmless hitting-of-strangers. I strongly support this sort of thing. Watch for it in a town near you ;-)

(the hand holding the red pillow in the forground belongs to T, who was totally about to wail on that girl. awesome.)

094 Fishes of the Burning Sea

I discovered today that we have two resident goldfish at work. They were given to us by a coworker who abdicated his position recently (a fact which brought me much joy). The coworker moved to california, but his goldfish moved to our office. I love the way the beads look like red blood cells and the way the window reflects in the bowl.

093 Obligatory

I can't tell you how many times I've been sitting on the bus on the way home from work, thinking "What should I take a picture of today?" This is the result... a picture of me on the bus. This picture shows how badly my hair needed re-dying, which I did shortly after arriving home.

092 Queen Anne

One of my coworkers brought me flowers this morning to welcome me back from vacation. It was so sweet :-) There's one white rose (not shown here) and some queen anne's lace, which i adore and makes me think of spring... which is SO not in Seattle yet.

091 Fiumicino

Not as exciting as Roman ruins, but it is still in Rome. I snapped this right before we got on the plane... for 17 hours.

090 Icon-olosseo

I can't not post a picture of the Colusseum... I have tons and tons of pictures from today, since we spent the whole day seeing amazing things. I would've liked to post a picture of the Capuchin Crypt or undergroud excavations of San Clemente but they're really serious about not letting you take pictures. We also walked all over the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum area, St. Peter's Basilica and the Via Veneto/Piazza Barbarini area.

089 Sippy Cup

The fountain in front of the Pantheon, at night. This one of the Pantheon cieling was going to be my potd today, but i just love this picture too much.

088 Canal-side Parking

Venice didn't look like I expected it to- it was much prettier. This is one of the minor canals, with main roads running alongside. Those roads branch off with even smaller roads the zigzag and dead end in amazing ways.

087 Have a Seat

San Marco square in Venice at night. The canal waters were rising and flooding up the middle of the squares, of which this is the biggest and most impressive. The building in this picture is the Doge's palace, but the chairs dont belong to it. It was very, very cold and we had jumped off the boat ferry to walk through the city at night.

086 Painted Faces on Display

Mask shop in Venice, with some buildings in the window reflection. The shopkeepers really didnt like people taking pictures of their window displays (i dont really blame them), but i wanted to remember...

085 Gloires

While this phrase is pretty much the slogan of all Paris, I took this particular picture at Versailles. It was starting to hail while we waited in line with the masses of other people. Inside, there's a few Beds of France and some very fancy walls and wallpaper.

084 Dire Fromage

A happy little market in the latin quarter of Paris, Maubert to be exact. We poked around here and I got a fantastic baguette with camembert and tomatoes.

083 La vie de Paris

I took 240 pictures today and lots of them were really, really good. My little bendy tripod served me very well, taking pictures inside dim cathedrals and from the top of this here tower. We had a fabulous day, trekking all over the city, from Notre Dame to la Tuiliaries (and Angelina!) to Montmartre to... well, here it is.

082 Garmish-Partenkirchen

We grabbed a train south from Munich to see some mountains. This is where we ended up. I was here before, in... 1995? It's a cute little town with lots of painted buildings, stracciatella and mountains.

081 Fußgängerverkehr

The corner of the Rathaus on Marienplatz, with my favorite dragon, and comparatively light pedestrian traffic on [main street whose name i have to look up].

080 Frauenkirche

This is the Frauenkirche in Munich, around 11pm. Munich is lovely at night, especially after a few beers.

079 Finally in Munich

After traveling for 24 hours straight, we finally arrived in Munich with little trouble. I'm slap-happy, exhausted and really, really ready for sleep. This is J being a goofball in our hotel bathroom. (Blogger is going to say I posted this at 4:00pm, but it's really midnight here. Whee! Also, I miss Picasa.)

078 Snowcaps

I took this right after we departed from Sea-Tac. I was musing over the fact that we were trading in one set of mountains for another. It's not the best picture in the world, but since you're not supposed to take pictures at airports this is what you get. :-)

077 Slick

This is the the alley between 14th and 15th, this morning. I've always loved the rainbow sheen oil makes on wet ground... even if it is environmentally bad news. This picture looks a lot better in its original orientation, but I decided to crop it and stick to format. See the original here.

Program note: J and I leave tomorrow for a trip to Europe! Expect interesting pictures of far away places posted sporadically. ;-)

076 Green Hot

Green is my favorite color. I felt so symbolic yesterday. If I knew Picasso*, I still wouldn't be able to eat serrano peppers. Jalapenos, maybe... definitely avocados. Thanks to A for cutting these for me so I wouldn't burn my fingers.

*I'm not being poetic, but Adam Duritz was.

075 Sakura

Spring. Oh yes. Snapped this on the way home from breakfast with A.

074 Swishy in Her Satin and Tat

Spent the day puttering and hanging out with A, then went to the club in the evening. I wanted to get a decent picture of myself dressed up, but I fail every time I try... this is, at least, my lap.

073 Mr Roo Goes to Couchland

J and I stayed at work until about midnight tonight... but we had to leave for a few minutes around 7pm to pick the roo up from doggy daycare. We decided to bring him back up to the office with us, rather than make him hang out alone at home. He was incredibly well-behaved and charmed everybody who was still left in the office. Here he is sleeping on the couch behind my desk.

072 Monochromatic

Went to dinner with A tonight, then wandered around Broadway. Eventually we headed up back to his place, where I took this picture of the wall. These Giger prints used to be a calendar, but they're way cooler this way. It looks like a B&W pic, but it isn't.

071 Orthodaydream

I took tons of pictures today- a coworker had a birthday party, F got a unicorn horn and tail and I wandered around town taking pictures of neat things. I also went for a consultation with an orthodontist. They had a fishtank that was also a wall, which you see here. I love the fish swimming around the office... especially the guy in the background. Because of this, I was in a good mood when i turned down the doc's generous offer to break my jaw and insert some titanium screws. Braces, maybe. Surgery, no. After, A and I made pizza, then I hung out with J until now... which is sleepin' time.

070 Citrus != Orange && Lemonade?

I needed some inspiration today, so I asked A to send me on a picture mission. He said I should take a picture of something that ended in Z... so here it is! I went above and beyond and actually took pictures of anything I could find that had the letter Z in its name anywhere, but this was the best. Other pictures included gorgonzola (on my dinner salad) and my coworker K, who's last name is Loza. After this, we went to see Tron (<3!!), then I came home and tried not to fall asleep while playing puzzelquest.

069 Bottle Stations

Another day, more work. Afterwards, J and I met up with C, E, M and A at The Station to celebrate both D's first day working with us and A's first day of school. This is a bottle of water, nothing more.

068 Musseltacular

A and I rented a car and drove up to Whidbey Island today for the Penn Cove mussel festival. On the way, we took the ferry (where I took this picture) and stopped at a pie cafe that also had llamas! ...or maybe they were alpacas? We also saw a live, wild bald eagle, some loons and a bunch of gulls. After much searching, we finally found a place that wasn't sold out of mussels... I had a giant, perfect bowlfull with a mustard cream sauce with apples. Coupeville was a neat little town, temporarily full of Harley riders.

...and then we went to Deception Pass to see what we could see. It looked like this. There were amazing tidal pools with live barnacles and squishy sea things. Also, lots of neat rocks that looked like pillows and dinosaur eggs. I had a wonderful time.

067 Epic Fail

I don't have any good excuses for it, but I missed taking a picture today. I'm gonna make up for it tomorrow by posting two. Not going to let missing one day get me down... for the record, J and I had lunch and saw Spiderwick Chronicles with F and C, then I hooked up with A for dinner and puzzle games.
