066 Leap

It's leap day! I took tons pictures of people leaping today... they're all pretty funny, but this is my favorite, i think. The location is Diablo, the leapers are Matt, Mat, Tim and Justin.

065 A Shop-Like Interface

This picture is boring and terrible, but it sums up pretty much my entire day today. We're trying to solve a messy problem and this is my brainstorm about a solution... that probably won't work. Otherwise, had dinner at QUAC with J, F, B and the CEO, then went to hang out with A. Rinse, repeat.

064 Rhaegar's Folly Part II

Once again, the only picture I took today was something I randomly snapped to illustrate a point to Rhaegar. This one is the pit bull calendar I have on the wall at my desk at work. <3 pitties!

063 Neener

This is at the corner of 11th and Pike. I saw it walking home from my dentist appointment today and it sums up just about how I feel about the hygenist I've had the last few times I've been there. It also probably sums up someone else's view of capitalism... or something. Other than that, today I wrote a devlog, had dinner with A, then joined J and B in visiting D at the Station.

062 Fraser

We launched the game in Australia today, which meant J would be working super late (he's still at work now, in fact). Rather than take the long bus ride home on my own, I decided to go for a walk. I stopped at the park on Highland, which, if you've ever been to Seattle, hopefully someone has shown you. It's among the best views in the city, as you can see. My tripod served me well - I've never been able to get night shots this clear before. (For a wider view, look at this picture, which has the wrong aspect ratio to be a PotD.) The rest of the walk was eventful, with a black cat guide and a few raccoons. Sometimes I really love living here.

Note: I notice this picture doesn't look nearly as nice in the small blogspot size. Click it to see it bigger, if you please.

061 Donald Norman Would Be Proud

Today was a busy day- brunch, errands, work, coffee, movie... didn't bring my camera to any of it. This teapot, however, came from Target, and was the object of one of those aforementioned errands. It's shiney and red and boils water in like 2 minutes. <3!

060 ...And Then They Played Poker

It was gorgeous outside today, so J and I decided to take the Roo to the d-o-g-p-a-r-k. He's been so sweet all week- keeping me company while I was sick and not complaining that he didn't get to go out as much as usual. He definitely deserved a reward. I'm glad I remembered to grab my camera on the way out the door, because I got a ton of really hilarious pictures. Something I learned about snapping pics at the park though: dogs are faster than cameras.

059 Pickle Sickles

One of our lovely fans sent us a box of picklejuice popsicles, thinking that we at the Lab would be too proud to take the dare to eat them. I was recruited to document this historic event, which, thankfully, meant I didn't need to eat one. I have a bunch of pictures of pained facial expressions, but this one had the best pain to pixel ratio.

058 Bakery Case of Doom

Hey look, it's Remedy again! Stayed home sick again today... was going stir crazy by the evening so A and I stopped by Remedy to get tea. I like the ominous lighting in this shot, even though it's not nearly this spooky IRL.

057 The Planking Will Continue...

I forced myself back to work today despite still being plague-ridden. One of my main reasons for doing so was to see this loser on his last day at work. That's John, our (former) Producer being forced to "walk the plank." It's a little ritual we do whenever someone leaves the Lab. Everybody gets a plank with the whole crew's autograph on it, but usually it's not this big a deal. John's been with the project forever though, and has been such an integral part of the game that we had to see him off properly. He's leaving on very good terms to take advantage of a really great opportunity, so all's well. I like this picture especially because of J and T (and one of the artists whose name I can never remember) being happy monkeys in the background.

056 Plectostomusn't

I managed to leave the house today long enough to get dinner with folks at Jamjurri, where this fine fellow lives. I still feel like ass, but at least today's photo is better than a pack of coughdrops.

055 Halls of Justice

I'm nothing if not dedicated. Sick as can be and totally not feeling like taking pictures. Spent the day switching between the bed and the couch. Roo saved the life of one of the foster rats today, so that was a bright spot... and that's about all the sitting-up I think I can do for a while.

054 One Potato Roo

Today's picture was supposed to be of whatever place we decided to ride our motorcycles to. It was a beautiful day today- clear, sunny and warm. All week long I was looking forward to taking Sascha out for a ride... and then last night I started coughing like crazy. Today was a blur of coughing and fever, with bright spots provided by brunch and J and A, who take very good care of me. We spent the evening as couch potatos, with the roo holding on to his rightful place. I thought the sepia fit him, since he's all brown dog, all the time.

053 Articulate

I meant to do something special for my 50th picture, but I kinda forgot. So, this is in celebration of fifty days, or roughly 14% of the year. I'd like to thank my camera, shown here, with it's snazzy new articulated portable tripod. J went to Frye's the other day and asked me if I wanted anything... and this is what he came home with. I didn't even know something like this existed, but it's absolutely perfect for my needs. Meanwhile, I live in a world where towels hang sideways.

052 Derelict

This is the block formerly occupied by Bimbo's, Cha Cha, Man-Ray and the Kells. It's been closed and empty for months and everyone expects it to be torn down any day. Hooray for more condos, really. A and I were walking back from Bauhaus with fabulous coffee when I took this.

051 Relevant to His Interests

I forgot my camera at home again today, so I missed taking pictures of the two scantily-clad ladies I saw in Westlake this morning. They were holding a huge pink banner proclaiming "Vegetarians Make Better Lovers." Instead, I got in J's face with the camera while he was trying to do one of those things he does on his compy. He's not a vegetarian, but whatever he's looking at is Relevant. We spent most of tonight booking trains and hotels for our upcoming trip.

050 Urban Renewal

I'd never been inside this building, but I knew it as the "Cthulhu Building," mostly because it had the "Cthulhu the Movie" written in huge capitol letters along the side of it. Secret "Speakeasy" parties used to be held there too, though I never made it to one before the gaming comission shut them down for good. The building must've been pulled down in the past few weeks, because it was there the last time I walked by (at 14th and E Union). Perkatory (a little cafe, with wooden adirondack chairs outside) once occupied the building that used to be next to this one, but that got torn down a year or two ago. The italian bakery across the street is also closed and awaiting either demolition or serious renovation.

049 Image

I waited downtown for a long time for the bus to come last night... which turned out to be an inspiration. My first black and white picture! Whee!

048 You Get a Lamp

So, today I had reason to question whether a screencap would be valid for a PotD. It's quite a comment on my life that the most eventful part of the day happened on the interwebs... but alas, I'm not posting a screenie of ActionFrank's chat bubble null client attack, though it was hysterical and full of spam. Instead, you get a lamp with a bunch of stuff on it. I think I jinxed myself somehow, because I couldn't take a decent picture tonight to save my life... so you get a lamp.

047 A Hairy Situation

I cut J's hair for him today - this is the aftermath. Funny enough, A also got a haircut today, but I didn't do that one. The rest of the day was spent running errands and cleaning house, with a heaping helping of The Tudors.

046 Zao!

After working all day today, J took D and i to Zao for dinz, which is where I took this. Now I'm running out the door to go to a punk/burlesque show. I'll probably take pictures there, but I won't be able to post them... so here you go.

045 Rhaegar's Folly

Rhae wanted to see my new hair, so I took this stupid picture of myself sitting at work. It happens to be one of the only pictures I took today, so much as I hate it, here it is.

044 Schizophrenia

A and I went to the Merc last night for the final Schizophrenia night, where S was DJing. The night started out rocky, but ended well... and I got special permission to post this picture of A.

043 Lemons and Limes

This is at Remedy again. E and I met up for post-work (or work out, in her case) tea and talking. Now I'm off with J to get some dinz and plan our trip. Whee!

042 Sickaroo

I worked from home today because roo had to go to the vet. He's been pukey and poopy, so it was better that he not be left alone all day. Later, A and I went to see 2001 at the cinerama.

041 Show Box

C, N and I went to see Louis XIV, Hot Hot Heat and The Editors at the Showbox tonight. I primarily wanted to see Louis XIV and they definitely didn't disappoint. I didnt take pictures of the actual show because I was busy shaking my bits to the hits, but this is right before they came onstage. Don't let the mannequin fool you.

040 Point It!

Had a nice relaxing day, free of superbowls. J and I spent the day together. Among other adventures, we tackled the 16-inch pile of mail that had been accumulating for the past few months. Towards the top of that pile was the DHL package containing our Eurail passes... and this book: Point it!. Seeing the title, I didn't really get what it was... and then I opened it and it dawned on me. It's a book full of pictures to point at when you don't know how to say something in a foreign language. This is brilliant! If I need to order a papaya in Germany, I know just what to do.

039 Patternorama

This is at the Cinerama, where I went to see the second half of the Science Fiction Short Film Festival with J and A. After spending all day at work, it was a nice respite.

038 Hairs

Got my hair cut today... tried to take a proper picture of myself, but 30 or so tries later, I gave up. Here's the hair, still wet from the post-cut washing. The color is special effects Cherry Bomb, rather than my usual pimpin' purple
