037 Bleu Cherry
I left my camera at home because A and I were supposed to go to a show where they'd probably take it away... but then the show was sold out and we ended up having cocktails and conversation at Bleu instead. This was taken from my camera phone, so the quality isn't all that great. Still, the funny little lamp on the table made a cool reflection in my drink and the cherry really was that red.

036 Mustang Jenny
J got his car back yesterday after a being in the shop for a month. This evening we indulged ourselves by driving downtown to see "There Will Be Blood." I like this shot (which is Harvard and Pine, I think) because of the motion and light. Also because of the ghosty car. :-)

035 Titillating
Took this one on the walk home from Boom with N. It's an antique/junk shop that I've never actually seen open... but I liked the colors and shadows and things, so here it is.

034 Lily Livered
More snow and ice today. Getting to work was a pain (walking up the counterbalance on ice = not recommended). Getting home was a pain too. I finally did get home around 8pm, had dinner with A, hung out a bit and now here I am. Anyway, these flowers are the anti-winter. I bought them last week when they were all just little lily buds and now lookit them! Soon the whole city will be bursting with color like this... just a little longer.

033 Shoulders Knees and Toes
J and I are fostering these two lovely lady rats, as of today. A bunch of the rats at the shelter were getting sick, so I offered to bring these two home and keep them healthy until they get adopted. In keeping with our naming scheme, we're calling them Curie and Hopper. They're really sweet and already really well socialized, so they fit right in. We had to have a little birds-and-rats talk with our rattie boys, though. Abstinance is being strictly enforced ;-) If you want to see their pretty little rat faces, check out this runner-up picture.

032 Play and Test
I spent today (saturday) at work, testing some fancy new content in that game we make. I'm not going to name any of the people here, but this is the 3rd floor of our office.

031 The Horror
D, N, F and C came over to play Arkham Horror with J and I. We may or may not have saved the universe from Azatoth.

030 Green Man Group
Well, really it is the BlueManGroup at Key Arena. You're not allowed to take pictures in there, but rules are stupid. We were pretty far back, but not too far to see the cool green laser suits the blue men donned for this song.

029 Cold as Ice
Seattle hardly ever gets cold enough for things to freeze like this, so it's definitely photo-worthy. This is the same park as in this post from earlier this month.

028 Not Trivial
Today was the really for-real launch of Pirates. It was also the day that A and I met up with C and E (and A's friend J) for trivia night at the Hopvine. I happened to have a stack of these fabulous temporary tattoos, so... this was the result.
027 PotD Light
I forgot my camera at home today, so you missed out on pictures from the shelter and from work. I'm sleepy now and making up for lost time, so I fell back on "what's pretty in my house" to take pictures of. These lights are on the entertainment center J and I made when we moved out here. It's only a matter of time before he realizes it's almost February and makes me take them down ;-)

026 Sun Day
This is the view from my roof... with the most amazing sunset we've had in a while. Winter brings a lot clouds, so it's not often we get sunsets like this. The summer is a different story, with spectacular colors almost nightly. Anyway, this picture is special because of that, but also because I finally took a low-light picture with no flash and manual focus. Journal-type note: I spent the rest of the day in my room, working. On a Sunday. :P

025 Honey Holed
Today's been busy and good. Brunch at El Greco with J and D, followed by a triumphant run to Ikea with A. We finally managed to snag the bed he wanted and get it back to his house. From there, we met back up with J and went to see Cloverfield... and then to the Honey Hole for dinner, which is where I took this picture.

024 Oh My Goth
This is a part of my closet. I'd love to say that, after taking this picture, I grabbed something from that stack of fabulous, put it on and went dancing... but I didn't. After spending six hours in intense, frustrating, stimulating meetings today and staying at work until 9pm, I don't have the energy left for much of anything. I'm so not hardcore.

023 Redrum Hall
They've been doing some work in the basement level of A's apartment building for months and months. I presume it's plumbing related.. or they might be digging up a Native American graveyard. Who knows? Either way, after a few starts and stops in the work, this is the state of it. The building itself is old and charming, except when it feels like a scene out of The Shining. I took this picture just after midnight, when the place was feeling pretty spooky, especially all torn up like this. I might've been a little scared... maybe.

022 Launched
Tonight was the FLS launch party... and this is one of the only pictures (from the 150 or so that I took or were taken with my camera) that I feel comfortable posting without explicit permission from the party participants. It was a great time- we rocked the EMP pirate style :-)

021 Another Shot
A few weeks ago I found myself at a bus stop in LQA and I saw these windows across the street, with a very similar sky. I didn't have my camera then, though I wished I did... Today I found myself at the same bus stop (because the roads were still super icy and my normal bus wasnt running) and this time I got the shot I wanted. I love the reflected sky with the winter branches!

020 Cold, Dark and Full of Leaves
I forgot to bring my camera to the awesome sushi restarant I went to with J and two of our favorite coworkers (B & T). Luckily it also snowed tonight, making for some interesting photoppertunities... and this is one of them. I spent most of the time it was actually snowing in a long heart-to-heart meeting with one of our Directors today, so this is the post-snow slushification... still pretty though. I finally figured out how to make my flash not make everything look yellow!

019 Vroom
For the first day in forever, the sun was out and it wasn't unbearably frigid outside. J, A and I couldn't wait to start up our bikes and go for a ride. We drove out to Golden Gardens and back, stopping at a random coffee shop on the way home. Tons of other bikes were out too, which gave us a funny sense of comraderie with all the random strangers. This picture is of Siouxie, J's bike.

018 Italian
For dinner A and I made fabulous pizza with his fabulous homemade pesto, shown here. Then we headed off to the club, where I drank exactly enough and danced like crazy.
017 Lazy Roo is Lazy
A bunch of people came over to watch crazy Japanese movies. Roo didn't really understand... he was just happy to see his friends (contrary to what it looks like in this picture). Hooray for no-flash and good close-up focus! I'm not even going to say how many shots I have that look almost identical, but not as good.

016 Wood I
A and I discovered a new local restaurant - only a week old - called Boom. It's a Japanese-style noodle bar, which is something I've been wishing for since leaving London and Wagamama. Anyway, the floor, chairs and table were all made from the same wood, which I found really interesting... so here's the picture. Tonight was another tough choice, picture-wise. I took a bunch of good ones at Boom because it was just visually stunning. Also took some good ones of A, Pacific Place and the inside of my computer. Cheating a bit: here's today's runner-up.

015 Trees and Needles
Downtown at night. Not much to say about this one... I took the bus from the shelter and walked up to my WW meeting downtown. This is something like 3rd and Virginia. I'll miss all the twinkly lights when they take them down soon.

014 Starry Dynamo
It was only a matter of time before a star ended up here in some form or another. This is actually a picture of the starry lights hanging on our living room wall. I flipped it horizontal because I like it that way. Oh also, today was David Bowie's birthday.

013 Champs!
Today is a special day at The Job. The Game the company has been making for the past five years went live at 10am, with its first ever paying customers. Consequently, this was the scene that greeted me upon arrival. I don't know how many bottles of champagne were consumed, but it's a lot. I avoided the bubbly (champagne = headache, especially before breakfast), but I think I was the only one. I toasted with oatmeal, yes I did.

012 Rat Snack
I brought the rats out to be my subjects tonight, which entailed bribing them with tasty treats. Edison is camera shy and the flash always make Tesla's albino eyes look far creepier than they really are. Faraday (shown here, with the nutty treat) is by far the most photogenic. I'm really pleased with the level of detail in this shot- you can see the tiny little fuzz on his ears, even! His nose doesn't look as sharp as I'd like, but I think that's partially because he's a twitchy little ratface.

011 I Like Ikea
Toys @ Ikea. I went with A to get his new bed... which they didn't end up having in stock... which sucked. I got some pillows and more starry lights. Ikea tires me out. I need dinner now.

010 Zero Photo Mojo
Every day so far I've had a few good pictures to choose from to post... tonight I waited until the end of the day to take some because I knew the lovely ladies of TC were coming to play. My photomojo was really not with me, so I spent most of the time yammering on about things that we tend to yammer about and not actually taking good shots. This is ok. We also had J's very tasty chili. But the picture: here is Jen (who gets her name spelled out, this time), holding Wild Zero. Everyone should watch this movie and howl with laughter and joy, as we did.

009 Glowing
This is from the walk between A's house and mine. I picked him up from the airport tonight (after he'd been gone far too long) and delivered him home. After traveling for something like 19 hours, he was reluctant to let me snap a ton of pictures of him, so I decided to capture the sparkley wet pavement and misty lights. I love walking at night in the city after a rain, when everything is still clean and shiny. It also gave me a chance to practice taking night shots that are actually in-focus.

008 Holmes and Away
World, meet Holmes. He's my work buddy... a very warm and cheerful personality, he has. I love him most on grey, cold, wet days like this one, which is why he's today's photo.

007 A Late Lunch
We finally crawled out of the house today sometime around 5pm to have a meal we called breakfast. Or possibly lunch... maybe dinner. D and N waited for us at Vivace and from there we went to the Grille, which is where we're walking to in this picture. I don't really know why I like this one, but I do. The rest of the day has been spent on the couch, in the most relaxing way possible. Time for me to go drink my 8th cup of tea of the day.
